EDIT is a registered Non Governmental Organization (NGO) which promotes the effective use of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) for social and economic developments in Tanzania. With advancement of science and technology, EDIT has role of reducing the technological gap that exists in Tanzania as compared to the developed countries.

The desire of EDIT is to advance the economic and social status of the entire society to march with the overall world achievements in science and technology and share the wealth of material goods, skills, knowledge, technology and other benefits. 

With belief that ICT is a strong tool that can rapidly improve economy and developments of our society, our country and the world at large, EDIT has realized that effective use of IT and ICT in Tanzania can improve business and government operations and services in quality, cost effective, global connectivity and many other benefits.

EDIT’s goal is to “build the Information Society”, the society that can utilize and take the advantages of technological advancements to bring about social and economic developments in the country.
